The Baby Shower Cake

Here you go Darcy! This is by far the biggest cake I've done, and the only cake that was made for very public consumption. It doesn't look big in the picture at all, but it took almost 5 cake mixes and 3 or 4 boxes of fondant. It had some technical problems, but you can't see them in a picture! The funniest part of making this cake was that my palms were bruised the next day from rolling all those little balls!

  1. Ok, so your cake skills have come a LONG way since our fish cake. It looks sooo good. Can you come over tomorrow and make cakes with me?

  2. I feel so privileged to be named on your blog, sometimes I feel like everyone in Fontana has forgotten about me, it's nice to know you still remember me!!! I love the cake, it's awesome! So, all those little balls are fondant??? What a great idea! I love all the baby shapes around the cake, so cute!!! Any tips on getting lego colored fondant for Tyler's cake? I'm really tempted to buy it colored, but it's so expensive! Oh well, I may have arthritis when done with this one! We'll see! What I'm really excited about is the inside of the cake, it's going to be rainbow! It's going to be amazing!!!
